I was cruising around my blogroll and found this post from Dawn at Frugal For Life. Which led me to this post at Casaubon’s Book. I think this is a great list. I don’t claim to be an expert on world energy use, or timeframes for using up what we’ve got. But it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to see that a non-renewable resource like oil is eventually going to be used up (that’s why we call it non-renewable). I can’t say that things would be hunky dory for my family in that scenario. We are frugal DIYers and do all sorts of eco-friendly things, but we still use more than our fair share of the world’s oil. We keep making steps in the right direction though. Biking instead of driving, xeriscaping our yard to cut down on water usage, using a solar oven, CFLs, low flow shower heads, “letting it mellow”, growing our own greens – these are all good steps, but we have a long way to go. Must keep working on this…

I think we all have a long way to go when it comes to being more eco-friendly. I tell my husband that maybe the world would be a better place if we all still lived tribally, lol. If we didn’t know any better, I don’t think it wouldn’t be so bad. I, for one, wish I weren’t so addicted to the computer…
