Decluttering Made Easy – Enter To Win A Subscription!

April 18, 2013 By Frugal Babe

For the last few years, I’ve been writing about getting rid of clutter and our efforts to have “just enough” stuff.  It’s an ongoing process, because clutter always seems to make its way back in.  But we’ve got a pretty good habit of “out with the old, in with the new” (secondhand new, of course!) that keeps our house reasonably presentable most of the time (we’ve got two little boys who are currently creating all sorts of play dough masterpieces on our kitchen floor, since I just made them a big batch of play dough this morning – sometimes messes are inevitable).

I know that fighting clutter is not always easy, and it’s a battle in a lot of homes.  Too much stuff, too much stress, seemingly too few hours in the day to finish all of the stuff that you need to get done.  Getting rid of clutter is like a magic wand when it comes to housework and overall home stress – it makes your house look neater right away, and it also makes it easier to keep clean (picture dusting the top of a dresser that has just one lamp on it, as opposed to dusting that same dresser with 27 picture frames and knick knacks (and that lamp, buried somewhere under all of the rest of the stuff).

Doing my part to help you out on the decluttering front, today I have a pretty cool giveaway for a lucky reader.  Tiffany Muehlbauer, who writes the blog No Ordinary Homestead, reached out to me a few months ago and asked if I’d like to review a new online coaching program that she’s developed, called Decluttering Made Easy – and she’s also giving away a subscription to one of my readers!  Decluttering Made Easy is a 52 week program that uses videos and ebooks to guide you through decluttering your house, step by step.  Each week, I get an email with that week’s video – so far, I’ve had nine videos plus a couple bonus PDF lessons.  The videos are really good.  Tiffany has organized them well, and each one flows from the one before it.  In the coaching sessions I’ve seen so far, she’s covered several aspects of getting started, getting your family on board, creating a plan, etc. and has started tackling specifics in the kitchen and dining room, including everything from kitchen gadgets and serving pieces to recipes and meal plans.

Since I’ve been working to declutter our house for quite some time, including a lot of significant purging a few years ago, we don’t have any overstuffed closets (the closet in our new guest room in the basement is entirely empty and ready for guests – I love that!) or piles of stuff that aren’t being used.  We do have too many toys, so we’ve been avoiding the toy section at Goodwill for a while now, and rotating the toys we currently own instead.  But in general, we’ve got stuff reasonably under control, and can have the house looking pretty good with about ten minutes notice.  Even so, I’m enjoying the Decluttering Made Easy videos.  They’ve inspired me to clean out neglected areas (like the fridge!) and revisit parts of my house that I had already decluttered… and it turns out that I’ve been able to find more things that were just taking up space.

If you’d like to be entered to win a one-year subscription to Decluttering Made Easy, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post.  Extra entries are available, one for each of the following:

Like my page on Facebook (if you’re already a fan, just let me know in a comment)

If you do any or all of the additional entry items, please leave a separate comment for each one you do, letting me know you did it.  I’ll be using a random number generator to pick an winner from the comments.  So you can get up to four entries, which would mean you’d leave four different comments.

The give-away is open until next Wednesday, April 24th, at 10 pm eastern time.  I’ll announce the winner on Thursday morning.  Since Decluttering Made Easy is an online course, this give-away is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.  Many thanks to Tiffany for sharing her program with me and my readers!

If you don’t win a subscription to Decluttering Made Easy, you can enroll in the program whenever you want, for $14 a month (affiliate link).

Yay, I love giveaways that are open to anyone in the world :) I am good with decluttering some areas of my house, but not so good with others (like the fridge) so would love some extra help.

I’d love to win this course. With two boys under age 3, this sounds like exactly what I need. The general clutter and toys and clothes that spread out all over my house is totally overwhelming.
