I hate it when I waste food. Especially when it’s expensive, organic produce. This morning I had to toss a bunch of spinach, plums, and swiss chard into the composter. At least they’ll make good compost I guess. We get 20 pounds of organic fruits and veggies delivered to our door every week. It’s a great service that has allowed us to support local organic farms, eat lots of produce, eat organic as much as possible, and limit our trips to the grocery story (which invariably end up including purchases that we didn’t plan, but just happened to see as we wandered the store). I try very hard to use up each box by the time the next one arrives, and to rotate the older stuff to the top if I do have anything left from the week before. But I guess last week some of it slipped by me, and alas, it’s not looking so good now. What a bummer. Bad Louise. Ok, I’m over it – just have to remember to check the veggie drawer in the fridge more often!
