Yesterday I put the baby in his sling and we walked over to Hobby Lobby. I was on a mission to find a scrapbook to use as a baby book for him, and I wanted to get a couple of 8.5 x 11 scrapbooks that are going to become Christmas presents. When better to buy them them than when HL is having a 50% off sale?! I ended up finding a perfect album for my son. It’s green (I like that it’s not blue!), and in a three-ring binder style, which I’ve never tried before, but I think I’ll like. It came with 20 pages, but I bought enough additional page protectors to have a 60 page book… I’m a little obsessed with baby photography right now! I also found two perfect albums to use for the gift scrapbooks I’m going to be making this year. My total bill came to $30.26 which is $2 less than I had spent on just the one scrapbook the week before. And that one only had 40 pages. So glad I returned the first one, and what great timing that Hobby Lobby was having a sale just when I happened to be looking for scrapbooks!

Great finds! We don’t have a Hobby Lobby near us, but I have heard great things about them. I think you will LOVE the 3-ring. I switched over on my last book and I love not having to deal with a strap hinge or posts! It’s a lot easier to scrap out of order this way. And with a new baby you’ll probably be scrapping when you can, in any order that makes sense!

scrapper Mom – thanks for stopping by! I figured the 3 ring style would be a lot easier. I always scrap out of order, and the post albums I usually use are a bit of a pain when it comes to adding pages here and there… I may become a convert!

Hi, I’m sure you have lots of great ideas for photos of your wee one. I remember those days! :-) I wanted to share a baby photographer’s site that I just love to visit. Her name is Ashley Skjaveland. I don’t know her, I just linked through on another friend’s blog one day and put her on my blog roll so I could visit when she has new pics of new babes. If I ever have grandchildren, I am hoping to recreate some of her photos.

How about a virtual scrapbook? Do it all online and nothing is wasted, no resources are used…everyone is happy. Oh, you can also show the scrapbook to more people. Get more info at http://www.spendingless101.com/?p=236.

Mrs. Accountability – thanks for the heads up about Ashley Skjaveland! I went to her website and loved it :) In our son’s first few days, I took lots of naked baby pictures, including lots with his daddy holding him – I’ve always liked dadddy-and-naked-baby pictures. But I got lots more ideas from her site. Thanks!
John – We have an online scrapbook too, which is great because we can use lots more pictures. But I love my paper scrapbooks, and I do them pretty frugally, so I doubt I’ll give them up anytime soon.
